Saying Goodbye to 2011

As the last hours of 2011 tick away,  I want to take a brief moment to reflect on the great things that have happened for me over the past year.  There's quite a bit of sentimental mush coming, but stick with me, it's all car related!

Games - Need for Speed: The Run

My sis picked up a copy of NFS The Run two days ago and I've been playing it since we got it home.  While I'm initially excited about the latest installment of the NFS series, I have mixed feelings about it. Let me break it down in terms of what I like about the game, and what I don't.

Spotted - Bentley Continental GT

I hope everyone has spent today surrounded by good family, good friends,  and that you've been stuffing yourself with good food.  In addition to your usual Christmas cheer, I had the pleasure of seeing this blacked out Bentley Continental GT.   How's that for a Christmas present?

Happy Holidays!

Santa Claus is Coming to Town IN STYLE

It's Christmas Eve and Santa is gearing up for his annual trip delivering gifts to all the good little boys and girls around the world.  Seems his favorite brand of choice for his sleigh in modern times is Mercedes Benz, this year the SLS is his vehicle of choice.

Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays!

Video - Rhyskhana

Formula Drift racer Rhys Millen takes the Red Bull Genesis Coupe for a spin around the old Hyundai HQ in California. I'm sure most people know Ken Block  for his Gymkhana aweomeness, but Rhys here is also quite talented at the sport. Video courtesy of Top Gear U.K.

I'll make an effort in the future to share more awesome videos like this, enjoy the sexy sliding!

Spotted - Maserati Quattroporte

Look what I found on the way to the post office! The gorgeous four door saloon that is the Maserati Quattroporte.

Jeremy Clarkson said it looked like a hitman in black, but in white? It's a class act.

This particular post was uploaded from my iPhone so the quality is not amazing, but it's likely I'll be posting a few of these here and there if I come across something when I don't have my camera.  Enjoy!

I Got An iPhone! (Cool Car Apps)

I got an iPhone 3GS as my early Christmast present, and I absolutely love it! (It runs on iOS 5 just like the 4 and 4S models so it's completely up to date) I'll never have to fuss over keeping up with a phone and an mp3 player again!

Controversy Over The Scion FR-S

If you follow car news at all, you've probably heard about the new Toyota 86, and you've probably heard about Toyota's decision to release the new model as the Scion FR-S in the United States.  Although Subaru's BRZ has received a warm welcome, the FR-S hasn't been treated so kindly.

Fashion Models vs. Car Models: Who Wins?

Two days ago the annual Victoria's Secret Fashion show aired on CBS, and millions tuned in.  The "sexiest night on television" is where the V.S. Angels rock the runway in flirty fashion costumes to promote the company's belief that women should be fun, sexy and fierce.  I think a lot of women are in under the impression that men only drool over models for their bodies, no matter what their actual modeling job is.  But yesterday, I came across this post from Night-Import's Facebook page that suggested otherwise.

S.F. Auto Show 2011

Last weekend I had the pleasure of visiting the L.A. Auto Show for the first time and I had a blast.  This past weekend I went to the San Francisco International Auto Show, which I attend every year.  I've been going since I was twelve, and it just keeps getting better. The treats in store this year were incredible, and I'd like to share some of them with you.

L.A. Auto Show - Part II

Onto Part II of the L.A. Auto Show! This section will cover some more concept cars, as well as some of the most highly anticipated vehicles of the year.  And later, a bit of the Aftermarket Alley.  Let's get to it!

L.A. Auto Show - Part I

Last sunday I attended the L.A. Auto Show at the Los Angeles Convention Center for the very first time.  Never before have I seen so many spectacular cars in one place.  I took so many photos I'm going to have to do my coverage in multiple parts, so here's Part I.

Video - Little Girl Talks About Engines

Forget Barbie dolls, get this girl some Hot Wheels!  She knows her stuff.

This adorable girl can explain how an engine works and she's only six! Better yet, she correctly identifies this one as an SR20. She may not know all the science and math behind it, but it's a start. I think I can see a project car in her future!

Featured - Bugatti Veyron 16.4

There were several amazing cars on display at the Petersen,  but none got me like Veyron 16.4. Something about this car draws me in, and I can't resist. So, I decided to do a separate feature for it.

The Petersen Automotive Museum

Over the weekend I had the opportunity to visit the Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles and I have to say this was probably the BEST automotive excursion for me yet. The collection of cars was quite impressive, every single vehicle on display left me in awe.

Today I found this second generation ('67-'69) Plymouth Barracuda at a shopping plaza and I was instantly in love with it.

The Plight of the Female Enthusiast

It may not seem like it, but being a girl who likes cars is a bit challenging. Namely because I often find myself combating stereotypes about my gender. As a girl, it's automatically assumed I must like makeup, clothes, shopping, spending someone else's money, and of course I can't possibly be into cars (or be a good driver).
